5 reasons why spending the holidays as a couple is just... magic!

Since last year, things have changed A LOT. That's right, I was the first one to shout from the rooftops that being single for the holidays was the best thing in the world! But this year, things are a little different. I've been in a relationship for a few months now and I have to confess: I'm so excited to spend the holidays with my sweetie… it'll be the first time in I don't know how long! This is why I can barely contain myself:

Reason #1: my boyfriend = my new favourite arm candy at parties

I am DONE with those endless annoying, meddling questions: "But how is it that you’re still single Gabi?" "So, when are you FINALLY going to bring home a boyfriend?" And you hold your tongue so as not to scream: "HEY! I DON'T NEED A GUY TO BE HAPPY!!" Anyway, this year, I'm going to be with the most gorgeous guy on Earth – sorry girls! ;) – and I'm going to introduce him to EVERYONE - and I mean EVERYONE. Also, if the parties are already dullsville at 6:30, well, I won't be all alone waiting to leave at a reasonable time to leave, as in later than 8:00 or even to be able to disappear into the bathroom with my boyfriend for a hot make-out session (and maybe more) when the evening is dull beyond belief. ;)

Reason #2: whoever says boyfriend says more presents

I can’t resist dreaming about the OODLES of presents I’ll be getting this year! My wishlist has been ready for two months now and sent off to my boyfriend, detailing the items I want, and in what colour and size! Yeah, yeah, I know… last year I was saying that I hated giving gifts to guys because it made me too nervous. But with a boyfriend this year, I have to shop for more presents and you know what? I don’t dread it: shopping during Holiday season to the soundtrack of Christmas jingles, with sparkly balls and tinsel making every store glitter with joy and…OF COURSE a little salted caramel hot chocolate from Starbucks! #AdmittedlyTacky

Reason #3: the famous New Year’s smooch

Up to this year, I was a hard core bachelorette, often having had one too many by the end of New Year’s Eve, passed out in my bed still dressed, with makeup still on my face, and a bit smeared on my pillow. This year, done are the days when I’ve had one too many glasses of champagne as the ball is dropping – 4 – 3 – 2! Instead, I’m going to kiss my better half at the last stroke of midnight! Yup, I’m the romantic type… ;)

Reason #4: New Year’s Day vegging 1,000%

I have two words for you: pajamas + Netflix… wait! I’ve got a third one: poutine. It’s so hard to get back into the swing of things after the Holiday season with all the parties to go to. That’s why it’s so important to stay in your pajamas for at least a day, with the lights off of course, to run your Netflix marathon properly and eat junk food to get through the day after New Year’s Eve. And as a couple… that means I don’t even need to brave the cold to get food! #TakingAdavantageofYourBoyfriend

Reason #5: ridiculously cute things to do as a couple in Montréal

My skates have been parked by my door since November! I’m so excited to go skating in the Old Port, hand in hand with my love, as the snow falls softly. Afterwards, we’ll warm up with a yummy hot chocolate overflowing with whipped cream while we leisurely stroll through one of the many Christmas markets in Montréal! Okay, okay, maybe it’s time I change the name of my blog section from Gabi unleashed to Gabi in love! :P

As for you, what are some of your favourite things to do as a couple during Holiday season?
