Menstrual cycle: Length
The first day of menstruation (your period) is considered the first day of the menstrual cycle and the last day of the cycle is the day before the next menstruation. The length of a menstrual cycle varies from woman to woman and from month to month, but it usually lasts between 21 days (short menstrual cycle) and 35 days (long menstrual cycle). A woman is considered to be regular if the length of her menstrual cycles is stable or varies by only a few days. In adolescence and the approach of menopause, the menstrual cycle is more variable and difficult to predict.
